What Is African Traditional Healing?

African traditional healing is one of the oldest spiritual traditions in the world. Here is what it really is — and how I use my gift as a traditional healer to help people in love.

African traditional healing is often misunderstood. Films and the internet show it as something dark or frightening. In reality, for millions of families across Africa, the traditional healer is the person they turn to when something is wrong that ordinary help cannot fix. I am a traditional healer from Uganda, gifted with spiritual and supernatural powers, and this is my tradition.

The roots of traditional healing

Long before modern institutions, African communities relied on their healers to restore harmony, protect families and mark the great moments of life. The knowledge is passed down through generations — through calling, training and practice. In Uganda and across the continent, every tradition has its own rituals, but all share one truth: we are connected to each other, to nature and to those who came before us.

The gift of a traditional healer

A traditional healer is not made by reading books. The gift is a calling. It comes with the ability to see into a person’s situation and with spiritual powers to work on it. My gift shows itself in two ways: my psychic sight, which lets me read people and relationships, and my spiritual powers, which let me act on what I see.

The power of the ancestors

At the centre of African traditional healing are the ancestors. They continue to watch over their families, and through a traditional healer they reveal what is hidden and give strength to the work. When I work for a client, I do not work alone — the ancestors guide and empower what I do. Read more in ancestral guidance for love.

What a traditional healer does

  • Divination and reading — seeing the true cause of a problem;
  • Spiritual work — acting on that cause with spiritual powers;
  • Natural herbs — preparing herbs in the traditional way for cleansing and protection;
  • Rituals and blessings — for love, marriage, protection and new beginnings.
“A traditional healer restores balance — between two people, within a family and within your own spirit.”— Psychic Nahabu

Traditional healing in love

Love is one of the most common reasons people come to a traditional healer, because love touches two families and two lines of ancestors. In my work I reconnect lovers spiritually, cleanse bad luck with natural herbs, perform traditional love rituals, take people through spiritual healing sessions after heartbreak and link souls in marriage blessings.

How to recognise a true healer

A true traditional healer reads first and works second. He explains what he sees and what the work costs before anything begins. He does not frighten people with stories of death to make them pay, and he does not claim to be God. I do not guarantee results, because I am not the Almighty — but I put my full gift into every case, and the people I have helped are the ones who bring others to me. See how my traditional love consultation works.

Honest note: I am a traditional healer, not the Almighty, so I never guarantee results. My work is spiritual work for adults (18+) and does not replace a doctor, lawyer or other professional. Please read the disclaimer.
